We are looking for a highly motivated Student Assistant to support us with our data driven research aimed at professional investors.
As the Student, you will from day one be a part of our highly appraised research team. We emphasize a steep learning curve for our junior colleagues and prioritise continuous feedback to support development of your professional skills.
About our team
Meet the Nordea Equity Research team. Our role is to add value by helping professional investors find attractive and sustainable investments through comprehensive and data driven research.
We are a team of 9 people in the Equity Research team in Copenhagen and we work closely with our five colleagues on the Equity Sales and trading desk too.
We are advising external institutional clients on equities and we are also an important stakeholder internally working closely together with other divisions across Scandinavia. In equity research we are specialized in different sectors like e.g. Pharmaceuticals, Transportation, Financials etc – hence it is a very diverse working environment with many opportunities for learning as a student assistant. It is a mix of senior analysts, junior analyst as well as already two student assistants in the team. Hence we also have a strong social environment with weekly team runs (for those who wish), Friday bar where we gather across teams, quarterly get-together in Equity Research as well as larger social events every 6 months (summer and Christmas).
Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.
Main responsibilities in this role:
- You will be supporting us in building proprietary datasets and leverage them to create valuable insights on companies that we have under coverage (we primarily work with Python and Excel)
- Assist Senior Analysts with data modelling and contribution to written research aimed towards professional investors
- Participate in writing research projects, including highly intense and intriguing IPO projects
- Working hours: 15-20 hours per week
- You’ll join a dynamic and professional team
The role is based in Copenhagen.
Who you are
This is the right role for you if you are/have:
- A keen interest in equities and a basic understanding of stock valuations
- A commercial mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Data-driven, but also focused on how we can transform data into actionable insights for our clients
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and driven personality who can deliver under both short and long term deadlines
Your background and skills include:
- We expect that you are studying with at least one to one and a half year to graduation (bachelor graduation). Preferably, but not necessary, within a quantitative field (HA (it.), Business Analytics, Economics or similar)
- Have intermediate skills in Python and Excel
- Know basics about stocks valuations
- Proficiency in both Danish and English
