Student Assistant at the Materials Culture and Heritage (MCH) Research Programme

Materials, Culture and Heritage (MCH) is the Research Programme within the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies, at the Moesgård Campus. We are recruiting a Student Assistant (‘studentermedhjælper’) to assist with our events, advertising and smooth run

We would like you to start at the beginning of the new Semester in September, with an expected 2,5 hours of commitment each week of the Autumn 2025 and Spring 2026 Semesters.

You will be an active, interested and academically curious person, playing a vital part in sustaining and developing the research culture at Moesgård. Since the role will require close and regular engagement in MCH Seminar and related activities, the position will particularly suit an individual with ambitions to stay in academia over the longer term.

Tasks will include:

• Advertising MCH Seminars and related events through social media activity, posters (etc.) as appropriate, as well as with posters at Moesgaard (and removing them again).
• Setting up and providing technical support (e.g. with ‘Zoom’) for the seminars, which are usually held at the Moesgård campus (Foredragssalen or at the Moesgaard Museum).
• Setting up and oversight of the MCH Reception and clearing up afterwards
• Ordering drinks, e.g. coffee and tea (etc.) and snacks/food (from the TAMU canteen at Moesgård, or as appropriate).
• Contact (e-mail) with MCH guest speakers concerning their travel and hotel and booking them, as appropriate.
• Possibly driving/cycling on small errands if needed (usually for purchasing food etc.)
• Ad hoc items related to the seminars.

With most activities taking place at the Moesgård campus and Moesgaard Museum, this post would ideally suit someone who is based on this campus.

Priority will be given to candidates who:

• Are able to work independently and carefully, with an eye for detail and ensuring quality.
• Are interested in research within the field of Materials Culture and Heritage, and are interested in finding out more about these research themes, through active engagement in the research culture at Moesgård, conversation with external speakers etc.
• Have a valid category B driver’s license.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Confederation of Public Employees – the State Sector (OAO-S Joint Collective Agreement).
