As part of our exciting growth journey, we are building a new Procurement organization to drive strategic sourcing and enhance our competitive edge. We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Denmark – a role where you can make a real difference in building best-in-class procurement capabilities in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Your Impact
As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth procurement operations, particularly during your first 3–6 months when your focus will be primarily operational. During these initial 3-6 months, you will increasingly contribute to shaping procurement strategies and optimizing supplier relationships. In the long term, your role will maintain a balance of approximately 50% operational execution and 50% strategic development. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to secure high-quality materials and services critical to our mission. Key Responsibilities:
Drive sourcing projects to achieve cost savings, mitigate supply risks, and ensure timely supply
Manage supplier selection, negotiations, and contract agreements
Incorporate sustainability principles into sourcing activities and supplier selections to support Bavarian Nordic’s ESG ambitions
Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders efficiently
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (GMP, FDA, EMA) and internal procedures
Analyze procurement data, track KPIs, and support continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ERP system optimization and procurement processes
About You

You also bring:
Experience in procurement or sourcing (preferably within life sciences, pharma, or medical devices)
Knowledge of regulated environments (GMP, FDA, EMA)
Interest in sustainability and responsible sourcing practices is a plus
A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (CIPS, CPSM certification is a plus)
Strong skills in sourcing, contracting, and stakeholder management
Proficiency with ERP and procurement tools (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Medius)
Fluency in English and Danish
