Part-time lecturer in European Human Rights
At the Department of Law, University of Southern Denmark in Odense and Esbjerg, a position as part-time lecturer in European Human Rights will be available for appointment on 1 September 2025 or by further agreement. The post/position is limited to 3 years.
The part-time lecturer will, in collaboration with the course responsible at the department and possibly other lecturers, perform teaching-related tasks, including preparing assignments and other material for teaching purposes, examinations and possibly counselling guidance in European Human Rights. Assignments and number of hours are agreed with the course responsible at the department prior to each semester. Teaching-related assignments cannot be guaranteed each semester.
European Human Rights is offered in Odense on both the daytime studies and the part-time programme in law. On the part-time programme, classes are held on Saturdays and are streamed and recorded so that students can watch the classes live or on a delayed basis. The lecturer is not responsible for the practicalities of streaming and admission.
It will be emphasized that the applicant can document a broad knowledge of and experience with European Human Rights. It would also be an advantage if the applicant has experience with teaching or other dissemination of legal subject/subject matter, but this is not essential.
Employment as a part-time lecturer requires either 3 years relevant practical experience within the subject areas or a primary employment position at another university.
Employment is subject to the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations for academics in the state with the associated circular to the protocol on the job structure for academic staff at universities and the provisions for part-time lecturer, assistant lecturer, as described herein.
The hourly wage is currently DKK 304. The preparation factor is 3.5. The salary per lesson is therefore DKK 1,066.
The Department of Law currently employs 14 professors, 17 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, 8 post docs, 2 research assistants, 12 PhD fellows and 8 administrative staff as well as a large number of external lecturers.
