Welcome to Global Direct Procurement
Global Direct Procurement is an integral part of the Global Procurement organization, which falls under our Operations division. Our mission in Direct Procurement is to drive growth for Novonesis through close collaboration across the supply chain and with our vendors. We strive to balance value creation, cost efficiency, sustainability, and risk management for the betterment of Novonesis.
Our Global Direct Procurement team is responsible for sourcing all raw materials for production, utilities, contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), and insourced materials. The Chemical category is one of our largest and carries a global responsibility across our five regions.
Our category team consists of a Global Category Lead and regional Category Managers/Buyers. Each region has a regional manager responsible for people management, while the Global Category Lead serves as the Subject Matter Expert, driving the category strategy and setting the strategic direction in collaboration with the Direct Procurement Management team. The global category team is composed of procurement colleagues located at Novonesis' key production sites across Europe, Asia Pacific, India, North America, and South America.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive global category strategy, negotiating contracts to achieve value creation, cost savings, and risk mitigation, and identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks.
Driving collaboration and business partnering with internal stakeholders, including operations, quality, sustainability, finance, and legal teams, to ensure alignment with global objectives.
Delivering on global business targets and KPIs, supporting the overall strategy and roadmap of Direct Procurement.
Leading and inspiring the team to seek growth and excellence, building capabilities, and ensuring proper alignment with global objectives.
Taking responsibility beyond the category, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
To succeed, you could potentially possess:
Min 10 years of solid experience in Direct Procurement or sales, preferably within Biotech, Food, Life Science, or similar regulated industries combined with relevant education at master level within Business, Economic, Supply Chain, or relevant.
Proven experience as a Global Category Lead with a successful track record in strategic procurement and expertise as a Subject Matter Expert within the Chemical category.
A holistic, innovative, and strategic mindset, along with a passion for developing procurement skills within the category team.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders, and comfort working in a complex, dynamic, and global environment.
Expected travel approximately 10-20 days per year.
