We seek an internationally recognized scientist in the field of Active Matter in Theoretical Biological Physics. The chosen candidate must have a proven track record of research ranging from abstract mathematical concepts and their use in biological physics to work with experimentalists in biological physics, including the interpretation of data. Work in this position is required to focus on how topology (in particular, topological defects and spiral waves) and geometry can affect brain function, specifically how brain geometry (folds and curvature of the cortex) can guide the formation, dynamics, and stability of spiral waves, as well as how these structures in turn influence neural computation in the brain.
The position is open from October 1 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is for (4+1)-years.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 38,700 DKK/approx. 5,100 EUR (April 2025 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 18,07% to your pension fund.
