Packaging plays a pivotal role in our strategic initiatives, and we have started the journey of implementing the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). This marks a significant step towards aligning with evolving sustainability standards. The Global Regulatory and Project Manager will play a pivotal role within the supply chain packaging team, ensuring that Novonesis' packaging portfolio is compliant with global regulations. This role involves accurate interpretation of regulatory requirements and alignment with key stakeholders, including the regulatory and sustainability teams. The position is crucial in shaping the future packaging strategy of Novonesis executing that.
In the role you would also act as Project Manager on complex projects which require regulatory experience and be able to bridge regulatory and line of business requirements.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:
In this role, you will support the Head of Packaging by providing regulatory foresight, interpreting global legislation, and ensuring our packaging portfolio remains compliant and ready for the future. You will lead or contribute to complex projects where regulatory expertise is essential to bridging business, sustainability, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and interpret global packaging regulations (e.g., EU PPWR, FDA, EPR etc.) and assess their impact on Novonesis’ packaging strategy
Build future reporting structure for regulatory reporting and ensure timely reporting to authorities
Maintain a global regulatory overview and proactively communicate changes to relevant stakeholders
Collaborate closely with packaging, regulatory, and sustainability teams to ensure consistent interpretation and application of regulations
Act as project manager for selected packaging and supply chain initiatives requiring regulatory insight
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to authorities and customers
Maintain comprehensive documentation related to packaging compliance and strategic initiatives
Support the development of long-term packaging strategies that align with business goals and regulatory trajectories
Potentially relevant experience
To succeed in the role we expect that you have an interest in packaging and material knowledge and would like to develop your career within this field.
The ideal candidate comes with :
Educational background:
Master degree in Packaging Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field
Extensive experience in packaging development and regulatory compliance, typically 8+ years.
Proven track record of managing global packaging projects and navigating international regulations.
In-depth understanding of global packaging regulations, including FDA, EU, and other international standards.
Experience with environmental regulations related to packaging sustainability.
Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate regulatory complexity into actionable guidance
A proactive, structured, and globally minded approach
