The Role
Be the financial backbone of Teton. As our first senior finance hire, you will build and own the finance function end‑to‑end across multiple entities and currencies. You’ll tighten controls, accelerate our monthly close, drive planning and unit economics, and ensure we’re always investor‑ready. You’ll partner closely with the CEO and leadership on pricing and go‑to‑market decisions while laying the systems foundation for scale.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations & Controls
Own the monthly close and multi-entity consolidation (DK/UK/US/CH) in line with Danish GAAP/IFRS; manage the annual audit.
Oversee AP/AR, collections, expenses, payroll inputs (via providers), and cash reconciliations; maintain a clean, scalable chart of accounts.
Manage outsourced bookkeeping partner and internal controls; implement simple, auditable processes and documentation.
FP&A and Performance
Build a rolling 36‑month model with scenario planning; drive budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Define and report core metrics (ARR/MRR, cash runway, CAC payback, gross margin incl. hardware, cohort retention, deployment ROI) to leadership and board.
Partner with Sales, Delivery and CS on capacity planning, pricing, and margin improvement.
Revenue & Commercial Finance
Own revenue recognition for hybrid hardware + SaaS (multi‑element arrangements)
Operate a lightweight deal desk: commercial terms, discount guardrails, billing triggers, collections cadence.
Ensure data flows cleanly from CRM to invoicing and reporting.
Capital, Treasury & Risk
Lead cash and treasury management, FX, and working capital.
Support equity fundraising: data room, diligence, cap table/option plan hygiene, board packs, investor updates.
Own insurance coverage appropriate for our business
Tax & Compliance
Coordinate VAT/sales tax, payroll taxes, and statutory filings across DK/UK/US/CH with local advisors; manage intercompany and transfer pricing.
Set up compliant, efficient flows for imports/exports and inventory.
Systems & Data
Build and own the finance stack (ERP, payroll/HRIS, equity, BI). Specify, implement, and automate integrations for a single source of truth.
Raise data quality across the company with simple schemas, controls, and documentation.
Leadership
Build and coach a small, high‑impact finance team as we scale.
Be a trusted partner to executive leadership and other function leads.
What We’re Looking For (Must‑haves)
5+ years in finance with 2+ years leading finance at a venture‑backed B2B company; comfortable operating from small scale and up to $100M revenue.
Exceptional FP&A skills: financial modeling, scenario planning, cohort/churn analysis, and unit economics.
Systems builder who has owned an ERP and automated finance workflows; advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
Owner‑operator mindset: hands‑on, detail‑obsessed, clear written communication, and bias to ship.
