About the team
Onomondo is on a mission to revolutionize global IoT connectivity. We’re redefining how connected devices communicate, and we need engineers who want to grow their skills while building systems that impact millions of devices worldwide.
Our services ensure secure authentication, signaling, and messaging for devices using Onomondo SIM cards, across 680+ networks in 180+ countries.
We’re now hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team and work closely with the other squads to help achieve our high availability and scalability goals.
You’ll work with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, LGTM stack, OpenTelemetry, GitOps tools, Node.js, Golang, Redis, and Postgres, applying reliability engineering practices to keep our systems resilient and observable.
What you’ll be doing
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of infrastructure, platform tooling, and network systems. You’ll help improve our reliability posture, contribute to automation, enhance observability, and support incident response efforts.
Your role will include:
Supporting reliability and performance improvements across tech teams.
Assisting in defining, tracking and reporting on uptime metrics.
Helping to establish SLOs, SLIs, and incident response playbooks in partnership with the other engineers.
Building tools and automations to support scalable operations.
Contributing to monitoring, alerting and observability improvements.
Participating in infrastructure-as-code development and CI/CD pipeline maintenance.
Actively contributing to pre-mortems, production readiness reviews and incident post-mortems to identify improvements.
Bringing a reliability-focused mindset to system planning and design discussions.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone eager to grow their skills while contributing to mission-critical systems. You may come from a software or infrastructure background, but you’re curious about how distributed systems behave under load and in failure scenarios.
Experience in Site Reliability, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or similar operational engineering roles.
Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS) and containerized systems like Kubernetes.
Understanding of infrastructure-as-code tools and workflow automation.
Exposure to monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, such as Prometheus or Grafana.
Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work with cross-functional teams.
Clear communication skills, especially during incidents or post-mortem settings.
Bonus: Interest in cellular protocols, embedded systems, or the challenges of global IoT connectivity.
Why join Onomondo?
We’re not just building another connectivity layer – we’re reimagining how global IoT connectivity works from the ground up. With customers like Maersk and global use cases across industries, we’re tackling problems that have never been solved before.
You will experience:
A playful, ambitious culture where people are trusted to do what they do best
A workspace that’s one-of-a-kind, in both design and energy
A team that’s small, sharp, and all-in on shipping meaningful things fast, with room for your voice and fingerprints on what we build.
Legendary lunches, snack heaven, and events that actually bring people together
