The Team
You will report to the Director of Group Tax and work closely with a team of seven dedicated professionals focused on identifying material structuring opportunities and cost-saving initiatives. Together, you will pursue efficient tax structures that align with international tax standards.
This is a full-time position, open to candidates based in Oslo or Copenhagen.
Job Description
Your core responsibilities:
- Provide support in tax initiatives/project matters to the Heimstaden business units at specific Country level by working closely with Treasury, Legal, Accounting and Corporate Finance amongst others.
- Manage tax audits, contacts with tax authorities and other relevant authorities for specific countries in cooperation with local Tax teams and/or Head of Finance.
- Support on acquisitions and reorganizations from a tax perspective.
- Contribute to efficient tax structuring of the business: Set-up holding structures and (recurring) intra-group transactions, implement VAT optimization.
- Implement and maintain internal controls over the tax function at Group/Country level and improve the efficiency of already existing processes.
- Work for Heimstaden’s regulatory compliance with international and local tax rules, and at the same time work actively to streamline Heimstaden’s tax burden within the framework of the law.
- Involved in developing Heimstaden tax processes, including supporting the review of quarterly tax calculations from the operating countries together with local Tax team/Head of Finance and Group Accounting/Controlling.
- Manage tax advisors and other external advisor in the tax area at Group level and engage in appointing and determining scope and use of tax advisors at Country Level in cooperation with tax teams and Heads of Finance.
- Work actively to be at the forefront of analysis/implementation of international and local changes to regulations that may affect the Group's tax burden.
Qualifications
To fit this role, we look for you who has:
- About 8-10 years of combined experience of work as in- house counsel, tax authority or Big4
- Strong tax background in corporate taxation in one or more Heimstaden countries, value added tax (in real estate) and transfer pricing.
- Good knowledge and experience of international tax.
- MSc. In (Tax) law and/or Finance.
- Good commercial and social skills as the work requires extensive contact with other business units and external stakeholders.
- Work permit or currently based in Oslo/Copenhagen.
