Senior Manager, Chemical Engineering
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our team and lead our Chemical Engineering department at our production site in Lumsås, Denmark. As the head of our CAPEX project team, you will play a crucial role in developing and guiding our engineering efforts.
Your new role
As a Senior Manager, you will:
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of engineers.
- Ensure effective communication and foster a collaborative environment with a customer fucus.
- Manage portfolio and resource allocation.
- Prioritize and oversee CAPEX projects.
- Report on project progress and strategic initiatives.
- Provide strategic oversight and vision for the department.
Your future team
Chemical Engineering (CE) is part of the Chemical Engineering & Maintenance department. Our team is based at one of Denmark's most beautifully situated production sites in Lumsås, Odsherred. Here, our skilled colleagues produce the majority of the active substances (APIs) in Lundbeck's medicines.

You will lead an Engineering team of 14 people, including Chemical, Mechanical, Automation, and Electrical Engineers. Our team thrives on a positive spirit, collaboration, and a strong will to succeed in implementing CAPEX projects to benefit Lundbeck's production in Lumsås. The team comprises both newly qualified and experienced engineers, providing excellent opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional growth.
What you bring to the team
We are seeking a candidate with strong communication skills to inspire and motivate the team while adapting their approach to diverse needs. The ideal candidate should excel in risk management and decision-making, using both analytical insights and intuition. They must demonstrate empathy to foster an inclusive environment, paired with integrity to maintain trust and respect. Strategic vision and long-term planning are crucial, along with the ability to identify opportunities and threats. Finally, adaptability and openness to new ideas are key to thriving in dynamic and ever-changing circumstances.
- Educational background in Process Engineering or related field.
- Familiarity with GMP and pharmaceutical production/process equipment.
- Documented solid leadership experience.
- Practical approach to tasks and flair for documentation.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
