As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Payroll Manager to own the end-to-end payroll lifecycle so that we can deliver an accurate, compliant, and employee-friendly payroll.
As our new Payroll Manager, you will be part of our Accounting team, reporting to the Head of Accounting. The team currently comprises amazing individuals who are focused on ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance within the broader Finance function.
What will you do?
- Execute the monthly payroll, ensuring 100% accuracy and on-time disbursement across all locations (currently Denmark, Sweden, and other locations through an EOR).
- Monitor Danish payroll legislation, tax rules, and CBAs, as well as Swedish and other remote-country rules, and apply changes swiftly.
- Act as the super-user for payroll applications, partnering with IT and vendors to optimize configuration, testing, and data integrity.
- Serve as the primary contact for the outsourced payroll provider, Azets, and liaise with authorities like SKAT, Feriekonto, and Barsel.dk for filings and audits.
- Reconcile payroll registers to the finance system and GL accounts, supporting month-end close and external audits.
What are we looking for in you?

- Expert knowledge of Danish payroll, everything within calculations, tax, e-Indkomst reporting, and vacation law.
- Working knowledge of Swedish payroll (or eagerness to learn) with experience in additional Nordic or remote payrolls being a plus.
- Proficiency with payroll/HRIS platforms and authority portals such as Nets, Feriekonto, and NemRefusion.
- Solid grasp of accounting flows, including payroll postings, balance-sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
- Experience managing an outsourced payroll partner, including SLA governance and KPI follow-up.
- A process-oriented, detail-driven professional who is comfortable operating independently in a scale-up/transformational environment.
- Strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to translate regulations into clear guidance for employees, P&C, Finance, and IT.
