The Supply Chain Development department drives a broad portfolio of strategic supply chain initiatives aimed at optimizing packaging and labelling, reducing CO₂ emissions, digitalizing the order-to-cash process, and enhancing the customer service experience. We combine data, innovation, and change management to build a resilient supply chain. In this role you’ll make an impact by...
The Packaging engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of innovative global packaging concepts and solutions. This role is crucial in translating business requirements into concrete solutions and leading their implementation, while evaluating key factors such as total cost of ownership, sourcability, sustainability, and quality. A global mindset is essential to integrate regional requirements and perspectives, ensuring successful outcomes
Your key focus areas:
Innovation & Development
- Translate business needs into actionable packaging solutions
- Scout global packaging trends and technologies to drive innovation within packaging Lead or support packaging implementation projects across regions
Sustainability & Optimization
- Develop packaging solutions that align with our environmental goals Collaborate with customers to optimize material use and reduce waste
Compliance & Quality
- Manage complaints and drive root cause analysis for continuous improvement
Collaboration & Engagement
- Co-develop solutions with suppliers and customers
- Actively contribute to the global packaging community within Novonesis
To succeed you must hold:
To succeed as packaging engineer, we expect that you have an interest in packaging and material knowledge and would like to develop your career within this field.
The ideal candidate comes with:
- Masters degree or other relevant background ,e.g. Packaging Technology, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 2-5 years of experience working with packaging and insight into sustainability
- A technical mindset to bridge packaging solutions and filling capabilities
- Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental support and collaboration
