The Position
Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK) is looking for a senior HR professional to be the HR Manager for our Copenhagen site and Nordic HR operational activities. This is a leadership position with responsibility for a small team of HR operations and payroll professionals. You will be based in Virum, Copenhagen greater area, Denmark with the option of a hybrid work model. This is a high impact role driving both global initiatives and local operational responsibilities for our production facility and blue collar workers. The position is well-suited for an ambitious candidate with a strong generalist HR background and the capability to handle the breadth of operational duties commensurate with a manufacturing plant.
The right candidate will succeed by working equally strategically and hands-on when partnering with the Site Operational Leader to drive an ambitious agenda of transformation and continuous improvement supporting our Spectris Business System (SBS). You will work together with site management and leaders, playing a critical role in embedding the One HBK culture across c400 employees working in production, R&D, commercial and business support functions. This requires collaboration on key strategic initiatives which underpin our Great Place to Work with the entire global HR team as well as other senior leaders, across the HBK organization.
You will become part of a truly global HR team with peers across Asia, Europe, and Americas with a truly global representation and a journey to a functional matrix organization, HBK strives to be a company, with high degree of flexibility in your work planning as well as individual empowerment to make decisions and execute on them.
Primary responsibilities
In this role, you will have end-to-end responsibility for HR activities within the Nordic region. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Ensuring the delivery of HR operational tasks including oversight of local payroll and all aspects of employee lifecycle
- Supporting local collective agreement negotiations including wage negotiations and maintaining positive relationships with Workers Councils and Health & Safety representatives
- Ensuring that all HR policies and procedures comply with local legislative requirements and are competitive in appropriate markets
- Leading a team of HR professionals based in Virum (4 employees)
- Coaching and support to local people managers on delivering people issues across the site
- Working with external third parties to provide services to employees such as pensions and benefits
- Developing and implementing local HR initiatives in line with global and organizational objectives and regional teams
- Working with site leadership teams to develop action planning and analysis of employee engagement feedback and data, with the aim of creating a best in class working environment and culture
- Support the global company objectives, including transformation, M&A and post-merger integration projects
- Adherence to global processes supported by Workday (HRIS) and managing employee data including regular audit of accuracy and data quality
- Supporting leaders with performance and severance cases in the CPH site
- Improving wellbeing, mental and physical health through our HR initiatives managing on site provision in line with best practice and global initiatives
Professional Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a HR management role with an ability to influence and create ‘buy-in’ at all levels
- Strong track-record in HR generalist roles, being able to be ‘hands-on’; and experienced in managing payroll and collective agreements in Denmark
- Background and understanding of operational deliverables including employee onboarding and all aspects of the employee lifecycle in a global environment
- Previous experience in an international, matrix organization, with a background in production-based industries such as Engineering, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Industrial Manufacturing being an advantage
- Experience in legal affairs and union agreements (3F, Dansk Metal)
- Thorough understanding of Danish employment law
- Previous leadership responsibility
