About the role
You will join a dedicated and professional finance team working in an international environment with colleagues across Europe and beyond.
In this role, you will report to the Head of Group Financial Controlling and Compliance and have a unique opportunity to drive projects from start to finish within the group reporting and IFRS spaces while supporting our closing process.
You will work in a cross-functional playing field with highly skilled colleagues motivated to support DFDS’s growth aspirations from all around the business such as Sustainability, Investor Relations, FP&A, Ferry, Logistics, CSRD and EPM management.
Additionally, you will:
- Be responsible for periodic financial controlling of selected balance sheet and P&L items where you will ensure compliance with DFDS’s financial guidelines so that issues are addressed proactively
- As the main point of contact in relation to these selected items, create a trusted professional partnership that goes beyond monthly controlling to optimise and streamline processes
- Conduct controller visits to our subsidiaries.
As our new Group Financial Controller, you will be involved in tasks across all areas and you will be exposed to many different stakeholders across the business and in our headquarters in Copenhagen. To succeed in this position, some travelling will be expected (approx. 5-10 days a year).
About you
As a person, you are curious, self-driven and take a high degree of ownership for your tasks. We work in a fast-paced environment with many competing priorities. Being able to focus on the most important aspects is a key driver for being successful in this role.
Furthermore, we expect that the ideal candidate has:
- A master’s degree, preferably within finance, business administration & auditing, economics, accounting or similar
- Graduated recently, or is an early-career professional with up to 2 years of fulltime experience
- A keen interest in IFRS accounting standards, with a foundation that we can build on together
- Advanced Excel skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Preferably, experience in working cross-organisationally with many different stakeholders.
