What we're looking for
We are seeking an Events and Projects Student Assistant to support the Senior Project Manager in events management, communications and stakeholder engagement as the Alliance plan for COP30 in November and additional engagements in 2026. The student will support the Senior Project Manager in all operational and logistics aspects including stakeholder engagement in the planning towards these moments.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed, dynamic secretariat team playing a pivotal role in the continued growth of offshore wind and the global energy transition.
A successful candidate has started a master’s degree within a relevant field of business, communications and/or climate. They will be comfortable working with a pro-active and organised approach in a small, international secretariat.
Key responsibilities
As Events and Project Student Assistant, you will play a key role in driving the secretariat’s international events and projects, including:
- Assisting in the planning, logistics, and execution of GOWA international events coordination including this year’s COP30, IRENA General Assembly, and other meetings both in-person and virtual.
- Liaising with venues, suppliers, and partners to ensure smooth event operations.
- Supporting in preparing event materials such as programmes, signage, name badges.
- Drafting and coordinating participant communications, including invitations, registrations, and follow-ups.
- Supporting on cross-functional coordination, especially with GOWA’s communications team and other co-founder teams to ensure alignment in objectives and timelines.
- Assisting on post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and insights to refine future event strategies.
- Conducting research for stakeholder mapping and analysis.
- Assisting in scheduling, organizing and facilitating stakeholder meetings, roundtables, and consultations, driving productive discussions and outcomes.
- Assisting with preparation of materials for presentations and meetings.
- Assisting in implementing and maintain GOWA’s contact database.
- Other duties may arise.
Your profile:
- Currently enrolled in a higher education programme (Master’s or advanced Bachelor’s level) in Business Communications, Business Administration, Event Management, International Relations, or a related field .
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders with conflicting deadlines.
- A high level of written and spoken English (additional languages are a plus).
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and Power Point), experience with Canva, CRM systems, and other software is an asset.
- Enthusiasm for and interest in offshore wind.
- Enjoy working collaboratively across teams.
