Here is your chance to make your mark on Denmark’s newest rail maintenance workshop as part of an exciting international company.
The maintenance workshop is located in Fredericia in Jutland, and this is also where you will be doing your job.
Make your mark in rail maintenance
Your main task will be the operational management of the maintenance workshop in Fredericia, with which you take over responsibility for the ECM4 function in accordance with EU Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779.
Together with your team, you will ensure that the DB Cargo Scandinavia locomotive fleet is maintained safely and economically in accordance with the respective laws, regulations and industry standards. It is a priority that ready-to-use equipment complies with all safety requirements.
You will also be responsible for acquiring new external customers for the maintenance workshop, both in Denmark and internationally. This includes sales activities, closing contracts and supporting and executing the projects you have won.
In a relatively new workshop with a new team, you will ensure clear priorities, good team spirit and the further development of standards and control systems in the workshop.
Your daily work will consist of the following tasks:
- Manage the daily workshop operations in maintaining locomotives and other rolling stock, including staffing the workshop with the right number of craftsmen and the right competencies
- Ensure that the workshop and equipment comply with safety requirements and relevant legislation, and that standards, rules and guidelines for maintenance of rolling stock are complied with
- Acquire external revenue for rolling stock maintenance and initiate projects for external customers
- Manage the workshop’s budget including the stock at the warehouse and ensure compliance with the workshop's financial framework
- Develop standards, documentation and control systems in the workshop further in line with industry standards
- Ensure that external suppliers comply with workshop regulations
- Establish good cooperation with other functions, e.g. Operations, Safety Management and German departments for Maintenance
- Continuously develops and optimizes processes and the operation of the workshop with a focus on digitalization
- Lead, develop and motivate your team

Leadership skills and knowledge of the railway industry
We are open to your background, but it is crucial that you understand and be experienced in the railway industry. We expect that you are a true collaborator and can build strong relationships. You have strong people skills and solid leadership experience.
In addition, we imagine that you have:
- a technical background – it can be as a craftsman, engineer or something similar
- proven experience in workshop management and leadership
- the ability to enforce processes and set the direction for a team of craftsmen
- a business focus relating to solid handling of budgets, business cases, and continuous improvement
- knowledge of risk analyses/risk assessments and experience with supervision and inspections
- good communication skills in Danish and English, preferably also in German
