As Technology Specialist Acoustics, you will join our Advanced Technology Team in either Kongens Lyngby or Struer, Denmark. You will play a pivotal role in researching, developing, communicating, and maturing acoustic technologies for Bang & Olufsen products. You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments, identifying problems and translating research into tangible solutions.
Key responsibilities
Identify real problems, propose solutions, and develop technologies at the intersection of acoustics and technology.
Research, develop, and mature technologies from concept (TRL1) to product readiness (TRL6).
Deliver regular and clear communication of technology status to stakeholders, including upper and executive management.
Guide the product and platform architecture by working together with various departments.
Support integration of technologies into the product development cycle.
Maintain thorough technical documentation throughout project lifecycle.
Communicate competitor landscape and academic research through internal workshops and publications.
What you bring
You have a solid foundation in acoustics, a passion for innovation, and experience delivering technologies across the TRL spectrum. You thrive in building cross-functional collaborations, fail fast, and excel in communicating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. You take full ownership of projects from conception to completion.
Moreover, you bring:
MSc degree in acoustics or related field.
5+ years of experience in acoustic technology development in an industrial setting.
Deep technical knowledge of acoustic fundamentals, modelling, and measurement processes.
Experience with MATLAB, Python, and acoustic simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ODEON, Treble).
Practical experience in constructing electroacoustic prototypes.
Experience with TRL frameworks and delivering reports at each stage.Effective communication abilities paired with a collaborative and inclusive perspective.

You will join a highly skilled and collaborative Advanced Technology Team with a deep passion for innovation that delivers the best possible sound. The aim of the team is to research, prototype, and evaluate new technologies within audio. You will work closely with acoustics, DSP, software, human interface design, and product management colleagues. The Advanced Technology Team is based in Denmark across B&O’s headquarters in Struer and office in Lyngby (just outside of Copenhagen). The team has a long history of conducting groundbreaking research and has been involved with projects such as RealVision, S3A, Archimedes, and DREAMS.
