As our next Senior Naval Architect, you’ll play a key role in supporting our global fleet of 300+ container vessels. You'll help drive Maersk’s ambitious decarbonization journey and set the future standard in vessel design.
About the Role:
You’ll be part of Fleet Technology and collaborate with industry-leading engineers across diverse disciplines. Your responsibilities will span the vessel lifecycle from concept design and major conversions to vessel recycling and innovation projects.
Your key tasks will include:
- Continuously improving the design of our container vessels
- Managing and executing engineering projects efficiently and on time
- Providing technical expertise and engineering recommendations
- Supporting both long-term and fast-paced technical initiatives
- Collaborating across engineering, site offices, shipyards, and suppliers
- Promoting a culture of proactivity and flat team structures
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Naval Architecture and at least 6–8 years of professional experience in ship design or maritime research
- A strong technical foundation and solid understanding of project management
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken
- A collaborative spirit, a self-starter mindset, and comfortably working in a global matrix organization
- Experience in container vessel design (statutory, structural, stability, or energy performance)
- Hands-on involvement in decarbonization strategies or technologies
- Background in classification societies or maritime regulatory bodies will be regarded a plus
- Previous leadership experience in engineering teams will be regarded a plus
