Research Scientist – Bioanalytical Team
Location: Hørsholm, Denmark
We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist to join the Bioanalytical Team at FMC’s European Innovation Centre in Hørsholm.
You will be a key member in our natural product development projects working closely together with microbiology, fermentation, formulation and field experts. You will perform chemical analysis on conventional products as well as produce, isolate, purify and characterise new and known natural products for testing as agrochemicals using advanced instruments such as HPLC, LC-QTOF, LC-MS/MS and prep flash chromatography system.
Key responsibilities:
Preparation of selected natural products. This includes arranging source material, crude material extraction and isolating, purifying and characterising the desired compounds.
Chemical analysis of known targets in samples deriving from R&D teams
Manage collaborations with internal/external partners for additional sample preparation and chemical characterisation
Support members of the team with instrument troubleshooting and development of analytical methods
Routine maintenance and qualification of laboratory instruments
General housekeeping, and contributing to safety activities
About You
You are a proactive and collaborative scientist who thrives in a dynamic environment and in a job that requires hands on lab work. You have strong communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with people around you.
You bring:
PhD and 3+ years of experience working with natural product chemistry
Experience in analysis of complex mixtures and isolation and purification of milligram amounts using LC-QTOF, Prep HPLC and flash chromatography
Familiar with techniques used for structure elucidation
Knowledge of natural product literature and technologies
Excellent communication and collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Confidence working in English, our primary business language
