We are looking for a highly experienced and analytical Risk Professional who is a true Risk-“Swiss Army knife”. You’ll be instrumental in creating models and monitoring risk, and leading our comprehensive financial risk assessment and calculation modelling. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing our risk frameworks, ensuring the robustness of our risk models, and contributing to our overall financial resilience. While your credit risk expertise is paramount, you'll also apply your skills to monitor and manage other market risks.
This opportunity arises as Impact Fund Denmark is significantly expanding its loan and guarantee portfolios, and with a Credit Risk Director, we’re looking to professionalise and elevate our assessment of the risk & pricing on loans, and to strengthen portfolio risk management.
Impact Fund Denmark is Denmark’s Development Finance Institution. We aim to be a best-in-class impact investor by making investments with risk adjusted returns that support the green transition, as well as building just and inclusive societies in developing countries and emerging markets. Impact Fund Denmark has a strong focus on creating sustainable and responsible businesses, which generate measurable social, economic and climate impacts as well as solid financial returns. Impact Fund Denmark makes direct equity and debt investments using Impact Fund Denmark’s own funds and as a fund manager for several investment funds, all with a strong focus on impact investing.
The job
As our Credit Risk Director, you will be responsible for the analysis and reporting of the risks Impact Fund Denmark assumes, when granting loans and issuing guarantees.
Your tasks include:
- Ongoing Calculation of PD, LGD and Provisions
- Analysis of Risk Drivers and Ratings in loans
- Reporting of Risk to IFDKs Senior Management and Investors
As part of a growing organisation, this is a particular exciting time to join Impact Fund Denmark. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence core processes, contribute to the building and implementation of new functions, and grow professionally. Because you'll be our sole dedicated risk professional, you'll not only contribute strategically and set direction but also be hands-on with the implementation and day-to-day work.
You will report to the Chief Risk Officer and work closely with the colleagues of the Risk function, as well as the investment teams.
The job is based in Copenhagen. We are currently based at Fredericiagade 27. In Q1 2026, the headquarters will relocate to Nordhavn, close to the S-train and metro station where new, modern facilities will support our continued growth and evolving ways of working.
The team
You will be part of a small, but growing department where the working day is characterized by an informal tone, good humor and service-minded colleagues. Mutual trust and a natural sense of responsibility between us are essential. The Risk function also includes the Valuation & Reporting team consisting of three colleagues and the Treasury Manager as well as two student assistants.
In Impact Fund Denmark we attach great importance to good teamwork and collaboration, maintaining a positive atmosphere and having fun together. We help each other out, share our knowledge, and – while each of us hold high standards and integrity to our work – we don’t take ourselves too seriously and share a good laugh.
Your qualifications & experience
We are looking for someone with a strong track record and high level of capabilities in:
- Credit Risk Assessments
- Credit Model Calculations & verifications
- General financial Risk understanding
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A higher university degree, such as M.Sc. or PhD in Economics, Science or a related field

- Strong knowledge of risk calculation principles, credit model calculations and quantitative credit risk assessment methodologies
- Proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with Python is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Adept at fostering strong relationships and connecting with diverse individuals
