How you will make an impact
As a Category Development Analyst, your role is crucial in driving category growth. Your responsibility will be to analyze diverse data streams to uncover market opportunities, shopper insights, consumer behaviors, and customer analytics. Your insights will shape our strategies, ensuring our offerings resonate with customers and stand out in the market. You will provide actionable recommendations on product assortment, pricing, promotions, distribution channels, and new product introductions to enhance category success.
You will be an integral part of a team of 7 dedicated specialists who are passionate about delivering the in-depth analysis and competitive insights that underpin Arla Denmark's strategic initiatives. This role reports to the Head of Category & Instore Development in Arla Denmark.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing market data to provide recommendations, considering broader macroeconomic trends, FMCG market developments, retail sales data, promotional effectiveness, and pricing dynamics
- Conducting detailed research into shopper and consumer trends within the dairy sector to identify untapped market opportunities
- Handling ad-hoc analytical tasks, such as forecasting promotional volume lifts, creating pricing overviews, developing business cases, and ensuring data quality
- Collaborating closely with the marketing team to develop and refine category strategies and independently managing significant ad-hoc category projects

We are searching for a proactive and self-motivated Category Development Analyst who is eager to challenge conventional thinking and drive innovation in our analytical processes, tools, and methodologies. You are capable of managing multiple tasks, have a keen eye for detail, and bring a structured, organized, and energetic approach to your work. You adhere to deadlines, are committed to achieving results, and enjoy communicating and collaborating with colleagues across various departments.
Additionally, we envision that:
- You hold a Master's degree in business, economics, or a related field, with a demonstrated aptitude for numerical analysis and data management
- You have a keen interest in understanding consumer behavior, particularly within the Danish consumer market, and possess a strong drive to translate data and insights into strategic commercial recommendations
- You have excellent PowerPoint presentation skills and are highly proficient in Excel
- You preferably have experience with Power BI
- You are fluent in both English and Danish
