Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.
Job Description
We are looking for a Travel Technician to support on main component exchanges in the Main Component Team in our Business Area Wind, with rigging, slinging and other necessary tasks. When needed, the Travel Technician will supervise the preparation and recommissioning of a main component in relation to the exchange.
Furthermore, he/she supports all offshore O&M sites with special campaigns and specialized tasks on request. The Travel Technician will also, to the extent possible, support our Fast Response Plan team in case of a termination or cable failure.
The team works as the first line support and takes the lead of tasks of varying complexity and size and ensure delivery within quality, time, and budget, and by that support the sites to maximize their profit in a safe way.
Your job as a Travel Technician :
- Perform rigging, slinging, and other necessary tasks on main component exchanges
- Supervise the preparation and recommissioning of main components before and after exchange
- Supervision of Contractors
- Special tasks and campaigns
- Ensure that the work is conducted safe and efficiently
- Ensure that the work is conducted to the agreed quality
- Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance to O&M Projects codex for being a good client
- Support 24 hour operations on a project when needed
- Provide special technical training to site personnel
- Provide input to lessons learned and feedback from the works
- Lead teams on limited scope activities where suitable – including, but not limited to, A.T. or limited A.T. status
- Conduct inspections, repairs and support sites regarding offshore work on the WTGs, e.g. troubleshooting on Main Components, retrofit campaigns, quality inspections, support on maintenance campaigns, etc.
- Support sites regarding offshore work on Balance of Plant or High Voltage, e.g. support on HV Safety Rules, take role as Senior Authorized Person, support / supervise with maintenance campaigns, etc.
- Support the Fast Response Plan team on offshore HV fault finding and repairs of the HV transmission system
- Ensure daily progress and H&S reporting to the relevant parties when working offshore
Qualifications
Your profile as a Travel Technician:
- At least 5 years of experience as a technician within offshore wind
- One or more of the following competencies are seen as a merit: experience with main component exchange on one or more of VF’s offshore turbine types, gearbox/generator specialist with training and experience with endoscopy, OPITO Stage 3-4 rigger, Appointed Person for lifting operations, blade repair specialist, experience as a client representative during operations, mechanically trained and experience, electrically trained and experience, HV Senior Authorized Person, HV Jointer / T-connector training, IRATA level 3
- Fluent English language
- Effective communication skills
- Working effectively across diverse cultures and geographical locations
- Ready to travel, stay and work on offshore and onshore sites for the majority of the working time, you will work in shifts 14 days on and 14 days off.

You have a high degree of self-motivation and you often bring new ideas and approaches in work-related issues that can be transformed into action and give results. You possess good interpersonal skills works well with other people, and you have an innovative mindset. You are result-oriented and you organize and prioritize your work effectively meeting required deadlines.
