Be our new Scientific Director/Principal Specialist in Modelling and Simulation
As Scientific Director/Principal Specialist in Modelling and Simulation at Zealand Pharma you will play a leading role in the model informed development of new drugs using pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modelling and simulations.
Modelling and Simulation is a newly established and growing department in Zealand Pharma, aiming to provide PK/PD modelling and simulation from pre-clinical to clinical drug development phases. For our first two positions we will need two Scientific Directors/Principal Specialists who can spearhead and help set the future direction for the early and late stage model informed drug development activities at Zealand Pharma;
1. A Scientific Director/Principal Specialist to spearhead Translational PK/PD modelling and simulation activities; Ideal candidate is a highly experienced PK/PD expert with a track record of delivering innovative and biomarker driven input to early clinical development plans.
2. A Scientific Director/Principal Specialist to spearhead late-stage modeling and simulation activities; Ideal candidate is a highly experienced pharmacometrician with experience from late stage (phase 2/3) projects and submissions and health authority interaction in obesity/endocrinology.
In the role as Scientific Director/Principal Specialist you will be referring to the Head of Modelling and Simulation and will be closely involved in setting the strategy and direction for the department, including how we work and shape the future as a team to deliver maximum impact for the benefit of patients. In addition, Zealand Pharma is undergoing a fast development with many near future opportunities depending on your experience and engagement.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic models and simulations for clinical projects.
- Act as Zealand Pharma’s PK/PD modelling and simulation expert for external and regulatory interactions and submissions for selected projects.
- Drive implementation of innovative methods for model-informed drug development and manage external collaborations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to implementation of model informed drug development and support the growth of department by onboarding and mentoring colleagues in PK/PD modelling.
Candidate profile
- Master's degree in pharmacy, pharmacology, engineering, statistics or other relevant field; PhD in PK/PD modelling or related fields with 10+ years of relevant experience across drug development phases preferred. Experience in obesity or metabolic/cardiovascular diseases are advantageous.
- Proficient in R/NONMEM and/or Phoenix and expertise in PK/PD theory and modelling application.
- Excellent communication skills and experience communicating results of translational and clinical PK/PD studies for internal model-informed decision-making and external audiences including regulatory authorities.
- Ability to lead and drive sub-teams towards results in a complex organization and drive innovation through collaboration with diverse set of stakeholders across a complex organization.
