A two-year postdoc position in the field of microbial protein electrosynthesis is available at DTU Sustain within the project funded by a Horizon Europe project, with an expected start date of 1 December 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to strengthen the department’s competencies within wastewater treatment and resource recovery for microbial protein production using electrochemical platforms. You will work with nearby colleagues, and with both academic and industrial partners in Denmark as well as abroad. The postdoc’s duties include conducting research on electrosynthesis and advancing the innovative waste resource-to-microbial protein through fermentation, disseminating scientific results in articles and at conferences, and engaging in teaching activities. As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in either electrochemistry, microbiology, fermentation, or environmental engineering, and documented prior experience with either biosynthesis or electrochemistry, or both.
The ideal candidate is a good communicator in both written and spoken English, is independent, and enjoys collaborating with others from diverse backgrounds as well as supporting more junior group members.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The postdoctoral position is full-time and fully funded for two years. The expected start date is 1 December 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
