Do you want to help safeguard critical infrastructure and advise customers on cybersecurity and compliance where digital and physical systems are deeply connected? Join COWI as an Operational Technology (OT) Security Solution Specialist!
Secure Engineering for a Resilient Society
Do you want to play a key role in securing critical infrastructure across energy, transport, buildings and industries? Are you motivated by cybersecurity, operational technology, and regulatory compliance? Join us at COWI as an OT Security Solution Specialist with a focus on NIS2.
At COWI, we deliver engineering and consulting services to some of the most vital and complex infrastructure projects in society. With the NIS2 directive taking effect in July 2025, we are enhancing our internal and external advisory capacity to help both COWI and our clients meet these new requirements.
New EU legislation, such as the NIS2 Directive, is placing growing demands on cybersecurity – especially in projects involving Operational Technology (OT) like SCADA, BMS or access control. That’s why we’re expanding our in-house capabilities with an OT Security Solution Specialist who can support screening, design, and governance in collaboration with our project teams and clients.
You will be part of our NIS2 initiative and a core member of the newly established Business IT department, collaborating closely with our Group Information Security department, project managers, digital experts, and clients. Your efforts will advance our services and infrastructure to be more resistant and safeguarded for the future.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Support project screening and risk assessments for NIS2 relevance and compliance
- Provide cybersecurity advice to clients and project managers – especially in projects where operational technology is a central element.
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical deliverables (e.g. risk analysis, BCP, DRP, incident response)
- Help develop internal tools, checklists and processes for cybersecurity governance
- Contribute to security architecture decisions and documentation in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with colleagues across buildings, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors
- Work with selected technical partners on vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and implementation
- Support development of internal frameworks and awareness training for COWI staff
- Partner with the Group Information Security team to stay ahead of the regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with COWI’s security governance framework
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to fulfilling your potential in this role is that you are willing to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- 5+ years of experience working with cybersecurity, within infrastructure or critical services
- Proficient understanding of OT systems such as SCADA, BMS, PLCs, and industrial networks
- Experience with cyber governance, risk assessments, and security controls (ISO27001, NIS2, CIS18, etc.)
- Experience with risk management, contingency planning, and documentation practices
- Ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders and deliver structured, pragmatic guidance
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to cross-cutting initiatives
- Fluency in English
