J&J IM is searching for a Market Access & Government Affairs Lead to be part of our Danish organization, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Introduction and Overview
The Market Access & Governmental Affairs Lead is accountable for successful coordination and implementation of competitive market access plans through effective stakeholder engagement to drive successful access and to shape the external environment in collaboration with the Country Board.
The Market Access & Governmental Affairs Lead is responsible for funding, access and securing data needed for local country HTA authorities are secured through input to the Nordic IEGP (Integrated Evidence Generation Plan). In addition, the Market Access & Governmental Affairs Lead is responsible for policy development in accordance with the national Governmental Affairs plan.
In this role you will lead the Country Market Access & Governmental/Public Affairs Team including these roles: HEMAR Manager, Regional Access Manager, Pricing & Tender Manager and Public Affairs Manager.
Objectives of the Position
- Lead country market access and implement country market access plans according to price guidance from Nordic and EMEA and reimbursement timelines.
- Ensure that deliverables to HTA agencies, such as dossiers and cost-effectiveness models are timely and of high quality.
- Demonstrate thought leadership by raising awareness of pricing and market access opportunities among key stakeholders and develop a sense of urgency to formulate solutions that achieve change in the market access system favoring innovation.
- Lead the team in shaping the external environment and analyze the political and economic environment, monitor legislative frameworks and make impact analyses. Establish and develop effective relationships with selected government officials – Ministry of Health, parliament and national civil servants as well as other health care decision-makers or bodies that influence healthcare or other relevant players within healthcare.
- Ensure therapeutic area support through projects or activities developed in conjunction with other functions of the company and commercial department in order to maximize the use of innovative therapies.
- Ensure, in collaboration with the Nordic IEGP Leads, specific country RWE needs from a market access perspective and drive projects in collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the continuous search for collaboration, funding and access opportunities by mapping stakeholders and identifying individuals or groups with high influence.
- Contribute to internal knowledge and best-practice sharing and lead external involvement with pharma associations and other relevant groups by strategically positioning Janssen on health topics.
- Act as a collaborative member of the local country management team, leading the full X-functional organization.
- Act as the Chairman of the Country Crisis Management Team and be the local spokesperson reporting into the Nordic Crisis Team during a crisis.

Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science or equivalent (required). A master’s degree is preferred.
- 7-10 years of work experience from both market access and governmental affairs with demonstrated successful impact in both areas. (required).
- A minimum of 5 years of healthcare, pharmaceutical or similar industry experience required (required).
- Experience with people leadership and talent development responsibility (preferred).
- Experience with budget responsibility (preferred).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (required).
- High proficiency in spoken and written English (required).
