THE OPPORTUNITY IN A NUTSHELL
You? A software developer with deep experience in C# and .NET, and a passion for solving real-world problems through clean, scalable backend systems. You're motivated by building products that matter - contributing to a mission where circular consumption becomes the obvious choice.
The Role? As a Backend Developer in our Recommerce Pro area, you’ll help shape the next generation of our Pro solution, Boost. You'll play a central role in our transition, creating tools that empower professional sellers and position us as the leading Pro Recommerce platform in the Nordics.
Tech stack? C#, .Net, Java/Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, micro-services and more.
Company? Vend, home of Tori, Oikotie, FINN, Blocket, DBA & Bilbasen, where millions of people across the Nordics connect to find what they need, whether it’s a job, a home, a way to move, or a fresh start.
Location? Our developers spend 50% of their time in our Aarhus office - but if you prefer being in-office every day, you're more than welcome.
Why Us? We’re building modern, circular marketplaces where Pro sellers thrive - with better tools, smarter workflows, and seamless end-to-end transactions. You'll be helping thousands of Pro sellers - from local repair shops to furniture brands - succeed in digital marketplaces, enabling more sustainable and circular commerce across the Nordics. If you're excited about driving innovation in a space where engineering meets real business impact, you’ll feel right at home.
Sounds like your cup of tea? Check out the details below!
WHO ARE YOU?
- You’re backend developer with 5+ years of experience within object-oriented programming, ideally C#/.NET.
- You’ve worked with Kafka, PostgreSQL, and GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Experience with Java and/or TypeScript/JavaScript is a plus - or you're eager to learn.
- You take a product-minded, user-centric approach - always asking: “What value does this deliver?”
- You’re comfortable with agile ways of working, experimentation, and learning from data.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment, bring initiative and structure, and help the team stay grounded through change.
WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?
In our three Recommerce Pro product teams, we’re building the next-generation tooling for professional sellers across the Nordics - enabling them to scale faster, operate smarter and reach more buyers with less friction.
You’ll likely work on:
- Onboarding flows that remove friction for new sellers
- Transaction systems integrated with payment and delivery partners
- Automation features to simplify listing at scale
- Boost experiences that drive visibility, trust, and business growth
You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and your fellow engineers - and play an essential role in evolving the core backend systems of our new platform.
We’re a close-knit and down-to-earth team that values each person for who they are – not just what they bring technically. We keep things casual in how we communicate, and there’s always room for fun, honesty, and a bit of weirdness. On Fridays, we share wins (big and small), play the occasional game, and connect to wrap up the week – whether that’s with a drink, a coffee, or just good conversation.. Some of us work out together as the legendary Team Pump Patrol – but that’s totally optional, and cheering from the sidelines is just as valued.
We care deeply about building great products, but we also believe that curiosity, learning, and laughter are essential ingredients to doing that well. You’ll be joining a team that’s ambitious, supportive, and genuinely fun to work with – where your voice matters and your uniqueness is welcome.
Where challenge meets opportunity:
We won’t sugarcoat it - we’re scaling across multiple product domains and onboarding Blocket and FINN, our Swedish and Norwegian based brands, into Boost (Our platform for Pro sellers), and bringing a brand-new business model to life this year and next. This redefines how we serve professionals in the Recommerce space. It’s a unique and complex challenge: building resilient, maintainable systems that support a growing number of markets and use cases - all while laying the technical and product foundations for the next several years. If you’re excited by large-scale architecture decisions, service evolution, and product-driven backend work, this is where you’ll shine.
