We are seeking a motivated and meticulous student assistant to join our international team in maintaining the laboratories for the Section for Biologics in providing general laboratory support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and cleanliness of -80°C freezers
- Waste handling, autoclave
- Collaborating with other team members and technicians to ensure smooth operation of the laboratories
- Assisting in general laboratory tasks, including gel casting, buffer and media preparation, and restocking (and keeping updated the lists) of lab consumables.
- Participating in sample preparation for phage display selections such as toxin purification from venoms.
Requirements:
- Accepted for a MSc program at DTU.
- Previous working experience in a laboratory setting, e.g. in GMO class-1 labs is mandatory.
- Previous working experience of purification of toxins from venoms using eg SEC, RP-HPLC and /or IEC is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications:
- Laboratory experience in protein expression in yeast.
- A strong interest in laboratory maintenance and support tasks.
- Knowledge of standard purification and cultivation methods and principles
- When starting, being enrolled in a relevant higher education program at a master’s level (e.g. biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, or similar).

- Service-mindedness: You should be eager to contribute positively to our laboratory environment.
- Independence: We value candidates who can take initiative and work independently, managing their tasks with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail: Precision and meticulousness are crucial in maintaining the standards and cleanliness of laboratories.
- Flexibility: You are flexible when planning your working hours and your tasks in the laboratory
- Strong English Skills: Since most of our inquiries and communications are in English, excellent written and spoken English is essential.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the OAO-S collective agreement and organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians, and IT employees (HK/State).
The working hours are 10 hours per week divided on two mornings per week. The contract is for 18 months (1 September 2025 – 28 February 2027).
