Your responsibilities and challenges
We are currently seeking Scientific Software Developers to help enhance and extend two of our modelling software tools: a) MIKE 1D for modelling flows in rivers and sewers, and b) MIKE SHE for modelling integrated catchment hydrology and groundwater flow.
You will be joining our dedicated team of engine developers at our headquarters in Hørsholm, Denmark to:
- Develop state-of-the-art mathematical modelling software in collaboration with internal and external domain experts.
- Supporting the modelling work of our external customers and our own engineers with new features.
- Research, develop, deploy and document scientific software solutions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, other project teams, project managers, and product owners to set schedules, discuss strategies, improve processes, evaluate results etc.
Your qualifications and personal skills
We are looking for a new colleague to join us on our quest who has a Master’s or PhD degree that involves applied mathematics and numerics. And you need to have experience and interest in software development and software engineering.
Solid experience with:
- Solving ordinary and partial differential equations numerically
- Programming Finite Volume/Finite Element/Finite difference methods
- Design of software and components, object oriented programming, design patterns
- API design, development and maintenance
- Optimizing algorithms and libraries for performance
Ideally experience with:
- Modelling of flow problems, like Navier-Stokes or Saint Venant equations.
- Parallelization techniques like MPI, OpenMP, and GPU/CUDA
- Estimating and planning software-development activities
- Azure DevOps pipelines
- Microsoft Azure or HPC environments
Since, we are a multi-cultural office in Denmark within a truly global organization, fluency in English is a must. Danish language skills would be an advantage.

Office location
The position is in Hørsholm, Denmark about 20 km north of Copenhagen in the beautiful DTU Science Park. The Science Park is easily accessible by express bus from DTU and Nørreport Station.
