We are now advertising a new position at DTU Physics for the second half period of our project UltraBat - Capturing Ultrafast Electron and Ion Dynamics in Batteries - generously funded for 4 years by EU Horizon RIA with partners in Denmark, Germany, and France.
You will be part of our team aiming to develop and utilize advanced X-ray techniques in the ultrafast time domain (femtoseconds to nanoseconds) to obtain novel insights into the fundamental physics and chemistry of processes in materials. You will work with ultrafast X-ray experiments using synchrotrons and XFELs, with a focus on charge injection, ion transfer, and structural dynamics in realistic and model systems for battery materials. The position will span experimental efforts at large scale X-ray facilities, handling and reduction of very large data sets, data analysis, and simulations of X-ray scattering and spectroscopy signatures of dynamic processes in battery materials. The theoretical/ simulation efforts are supported by project partners from DTU Energy, and the experimental efforts are supported by project partners from European XFEL.
Responsibilities and qualifications
This Postdoc position is ideal for a person with graduate and/or post-graduate experience in time-resolved X-ray experiments and a proven record of accomplishment within state-of-the-art simulation and analysis of such data sets. We are looking for a highly skilled and extremely motivated person who is energized by working in close collaboration with people from different scientific backgrounds and who can contribute strongly to team efforts on the technical and personal level. As the position is very collaborative in nature, you should have an outgoing personality and enjoy working closely with colleagues and collaborators.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is up to 2 years.
