The Customer Project Execution (CPX) team is tasked with overseeing Vestas’ comprehensive customer project management – ensuring a smooth transition from Firm Order Intake to Handover to Service. CPX promotes operational excellence throughout its international projects, liaises with a variety of stakeholders, and is responsible for the Power Plant Solutions’ P&L. With a focus on process efficiency, stakeholder alignment, and strategic execution, CPX plays a critical role in safely delivering high-quality wind energy solutions on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
About The Role
Your duties as the Head of the Project Management Office (PMO) for Global Customer Project Execution (CPX) will include managing global governance, enhancing performance, and promoting ongoing improvements in Vestas’ project execution efforts. Based on PMBOK’s guidelines for standardization and oversight, the Global PMO plays an important role in ensuring the efficient completion of customer projects, improving profitability related to the Power Plant Solutions P&L, and aiding Vestas' strategic vision for the future. You will collaborate with various teams, including the Regions, Global Sales, CSO Finance, Digital Solutions, and others, to standardize processes, facilitate data-informed decisions, and promote operational Excellence through Lean methodologies and structured improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
o Oversee CPX Analytics and Controls to enable transparent, data-driven decisions.
o Enhance tracking of financial and operational performance across various regions, with a focus on revenue, margin, cash flow, risks, and opportunities.
o Manage cross-regional portfolio management and benchmarking.
o Guide development and roll-out of data products, KPIs, and visualization tools using SAP BI, SAC, and Power BI.
- Processes & Project Management Support
o Define, own, and improve global standards for project management within CPX.
o Manage standardization and continuous improvement of CPX processes and systems.
o Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, quality management, and documentation standards.
o Manage training content and ensure alignment of Lessons Learnt methodology.
o Oversee the implementation of the “One Global CPX Improvement Roadmap” in accordance with strategic objectives.
o Own the evolution and optimization of CPX systems such as Procore and SitePro.
o Apply Lean principles to organize structured improvement initiatives and roll-out support to regional teams with communication and training packages.
o Provide cross-regional Key Account Management and project management support.
o Manage strategic initiatives related to subcontractor/vendor management and risk mitigation.
o Support the handling of CIM cases, NCRs, and critical project escalations across regions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
10+ years of experience in project execution, PMO leadership, or strategic operations in complex infrastructure or energy industries.
- Demonstrated proficiency in portfolio management, project governance, and process improvement.
- Solid understanding of financial drivers in project delivery, including P&L management.
- Advanced skills in project management tools, BI platforms (SAP BI, SAC, Power BI), and ERP systems.
