At DFDS, we are undergoing a transformative journey, digitizing our back-office operations. The core of this initiative is the implementation of a cutting-edge ERP system for our Group Finance and Procurement departments. We are now in the deployment phase, embracing Microsoft Dynamics, including D365 Finance and multiple ISVs, as we transition away from our legacy financial systems.
The role as D365 Functional Specialist encompasses diverse responsibilities that will evolve as the project progresses from implementation to a fully operational system. You will be an integral part of a highly skilled international team, located in DFDS’ offices in Istanbul, Poznan and Copenhagen. This position will reside with the Copenhagen office.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive general ledger specialist, with a flair and wish to learn about our ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365FO. Ideally you should have experience with maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities
The job consists of the following tasks:
- Use your background with general ledger background to steer end users during their general ledger processes.
- Solve technical issues for end users, with extra attention during month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Provide support to D365FO users across the entire DFDS group.
- Document change requests.
- Stay updated on new features and functionality in Microsoft releases.
- Offer support to various business areas, including Finance and Procurement.
- Lead and participate in various continuous improvement activities for the Operations team to improve our ways of working locally.
If you are not currently knowledgeable about ERP systems, do not despair. You will get a great onboarding and training in Microsoft Dynamics 365FO
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
- Strong English competences and is comfortable with cross-departmental communication.
- Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail.
- A strong wish to support end users.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle) is a strong plus.
