DTU - Technical University of Denmark
Region Hovedstaden

Does data management and data stewardship for research sound important and exciting to you? Are you interested in metadata, vocabularies, taxonomies, and ontologies for data? Can you understand researchers' needs for handling their research data, metadata, data management plans, code, etc.? Do you see the value of data sharing, reuse, and referencing for research? Do you have experience with data management that follows the FAIR principles for your own or others' research? Then you might be the new member of the Data Management department at DeiC.

The job
Data Management (DM) solutions offered by DeiC must support the universities' needs for national infrastructures, specifically for DM, but just as importantly, must integrate with other infrastructure services, including HPC (high performance computing) services.

We are looking for a new colleague for a newly established position, someone with insight into and interest in the technical aspects of FAIR data management solutions and support for data stewardship — such as the use of metadata standards and ontologies, data management planning and support, as well as the development of machine-readable/-executable metadata descriptions. This also includes connection to semantic web standards such as RDF, SPARQL, OWL, and linked data.

Collaboration on DM both nationally and internationally is essential, and you must therefore have strong communication skills and a curiosity to understand the needs of researchers, as well as the motivation to explore and find solutions.

You will be part of our Data Management Department, where we work hard to provide the best possible national infrastructure support to researchers at Danish universities, in close collaboration with the rest of DeiC and our many stakeholders.

The department consists of seven employees spread across DeiC’s offices in Lyngby, Aarhus, and Odense.

As part of the DM department, you will be specifically responsible for:

In addition, you will participate in the department’s activities to support data management both nationally and internationally, with an emphasis on collaborative task execution.

It is important that you thrive in a workday filled with a variety of tasks and diverse stakeholders.

We expect that you:

What we offer in return
We can provide an informal work environment where we highly value strong professional expertise and a good sense of humour. You will have skilled and dedicated colleagues and great opportunities for both professional and personal development — individually and through collaboration.

DeiC is a distributed organisation, where we work across locations with colleagues based throughout the country.

In the DM department, we have a very broad network of contacts, both internally within DeiC and externally with universities and other partners nationally and internationally. Therefore, the position will involve external meetings, events, and travel activities.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer or Senior Officer.

The position is full-time (37 hours per week) and is to be filled as soon as possible.

The workplace will be at DeiC’s offices on the DTU Campus in Lyngby or the AU Campus in Aarhus.

Application and contact
Please submit your online application no later than Sunday, 17 August 2025 (23:59 Danish time).  Open the “Apply now” link, fill out the form and attach your motivated application, CV and exam certificates.

We plan to have first interviews Thursday, 21 August 2025 and second interview Thursday, 28 August 2025.

If you would like additional information about the position, please contact Head of Data Management Anne Sofie Fink Kjeldgaard anne.sofie.fink@deic.dk on phone number 9351 1544.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply. As DTU works with research in critical technology, which is subject to special rules for security and export control, open-source background checks may be conducted on qualified candidates for the position.
